Cheryl invites you to consider the overwhelming pace of modern life, where meetings and demands seem never-ending. She introduces a simple yet effective reset that can fit into even the busiest of calendars. By focusing on your breath and your surroundings, you can begin to slow down your racing mind and create space for clarity.
Throughout the episode, Cheryl highlights the power of a brief 90-second reset, demonstrating how small actions can significantly impact your mental state. She reassures you that it’s not about lengthy breaks, but about allowing yourself those precious moments to breathe and reset. As always, Cheryl emphasises the importance of seeking professional support if you're feeling overwhelmed, reminding you that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.

Naming The Overload
A Ninety Second Reset
SPEAKER_01Welcome to ABGW. Amazing, brilliant, gorgeous, wonderful, five mindful minutes for your real life, not your imaginary perfect one. If you're smart, capable, and secretly exhausted, you're in the right place. I'm really curious to know this. You might feel like there's simply no space today. That you're just on one long conveyor belt of meetings and pings and everybody else's demands. What I would like to suggest is that you can choose a reset that fits in a calendar gap. Try this where you are right now, if you can. Plant both feet on the ground, unclench your jaw, let your shoulders roll back a notch, breathe in through your nose for four, and breathe out through your mouth for six. Maybe three or four times. That's right. Let your eyes soften and widen your attention, noticing three sounds, then three points of contact that you may have with the chair or the floor. Name it kindly, almost like under your breath.
Why Short Exhales Work
Permission For Small Steps
SPEAKER_00Fast mind, protective body, slowing now. So sooner or later you'll notice that your brain catastrophizes less when you repeat a short outbreath during the day. That ninety seconds reset. It proves that you can turn down the dial at the right pace for you. I hope that little snippet today shows you you don't need twenty minutes. You just need to allow yourself some time. Next time we'll tackle the belief that small steps aren't worth it.
SPEAKER_01If you're feeling unsafe or overwhelmed, please reach out for appropriate professional support, including myself, because you're allowed help. Because every step you take, no matter how small, is a step towards a brighter, more balanced future. Trust in your journey and remember, progress is progress no matter the pace.
